I have had this PC for 24 hours and so far I am very impressed with it.
As per most new PCs the first thing I had to do was download the latest pdates and then make up the back-up discs. This took just under 2 hours to do, but like I say, you have to do that with every PC.
In terms of build quality - this really is excellent. The frame of the computer is excellently built and sits solidly on the desk. It really is like a large picture frame. The size of the unit is incredible considering it contains so much, ie it is very neat. The design is also contemporary.
The keyboard is also very well built, as I have always felt that previous models were too flimsy when I picked them up in the shops. The mouse is also faultless.
So far the computer is running very fast, even after I have installed all the programs I need. I have also left on Windows Aero which does not affect the performance.
The fan noise referred to above is present but i would not class it as being an aggressive noise. I think you notice it because most people are use to the CPU being at their feet under the desk. So please don't let the fan noise put you off buying this excellent machine.
Finally, I should point out that I spec'd this machine against other desktop machines and I can only say that for this specification it did beat the others for value for money. | | Good computer - bad noise: Rating: 2/5 |
| On paper this looked like just the Windows 7 PC I needed - lovely keyboard, screen, fast. But the fan noise.... is permanent. Even, on default settings, during sleep. I had to return it on that basis alone. I need a PC I can work with all day long and this one was just too loud. | |
