I like the laptop but keep getting a page that requests a product reference number, where is it ? with laptops I have purchased in the past they have had a back-up disc with product number, can you help, other than that a nice piece of equipment.

| I have just bought this compaq computer previously being a dell user. THis is a great little laptop - very quick, great keyboard and super easy to use. I can't rave about it more - windows 7 is so much better than XP and is easy to use. Defintely great value for money and a worthy buy. | | Generally great.: Rating: 4/5 |
Like the previous reviewer, I have not had a compaq before but needed a new laptop and this one was in the right price bracket for my wallet. It comes pre-loaded with Windows 7 and, I have to say, I have had no problems with connecting my peripherals to it - it automatically finds the software necessary to run it and downloads.
The laptop itself is lightweight and the battery life is good - although when it starts to get low, it does use the last few percent of battery life very quickly.
I had no problems connecting to my internet modem and have not had any issues with connection at all.
The in-built webcam is great for SKYPE chats and facebook photos.
It has a 5 in 1 card reader and HDMI output which is great when I want/need to connect it to my HD-TV to view photos etc, although the screen is brilliantly clear by itself.
I really like the fact that it has a numeric keypad as this is a feature that I found to be lacking in my previous laptops.
3 USB sockets make life really easy when connecting printer, memory stick and scanner
The smooth touch-pad (mouse) took a bit of getting used to, but now I love it and mouse movements are really smooth.
For its price, I would really recommend this product as its failings are far outweighed by its good points. | | A Little Gem: Rating: 5/5 |
I've never owned a Compaq product before, so I was a bit apprehensive about how reliable it was going to be. However, when I received the product, this was nothing to be worried about, as it behaved well and was as quick as a blink at everything! It has the latest Windows 7 (which is awesome as you can have gadgets, design your own wallpaper and customize everything),it is great to carry around and has a super battery life and looks great, because it has a piano black finish and some nice silver edges.
I would recommend this notebook/laptop to anyone in need of somewhere to word process, surf the web and have fun in style. It has an integrated web cam, great if you have an account on Skype, Windows Live or Facebook. The internet is super speedy and I had no trouble at all setting it up with my wireless connection, because the laptop/notebook pretty much does everything for you. This is a great piece of technology. | |
