I've had HP printers so I thought I'd try this Kodak one, because of the cost of cartridges.
This isn't scientific, but it seems I'm replacing the kodak cartridges ALOT sooner than I ever did the HP ones. A false economy?
Additionally, and this is the reason I've given this 2 stars - if one or other of your cartridges runs out e.g. the black runs out OR the colour runs out - you can't print using the other cartridge!
I.e. I have a full black cartridge but I can't print anything because the colour one has run out - the printer just keeps showing an error even though I'm telling it to print in black-and-white.
With my HP - I was able to use either/or until I had fully used both and replaced them at the same time.
This is a MAJOR frustration and I'm almost tempted to give this printer a 1-star because of it - except it's not a bad printer otherwise - for the price. | | Excellent product but may not work with your OS X computer.: Rating: 4/5 |
I had a really hard time installing this on my 24" iMac running OS X (10.6.4). I was unable to use the scanner or any of the advanced printing functions under OS X. After some time I found that it was probably due a conflict with SyncMate, but even after removing that and re-installing (several times), I was only able to use basic printing functions.
However, the product performs very well using Windows XP running in VMWare Fusion. Excellent print quality on photo paper and really quick. Scanning is quite speedy and produces excellent results. The unit itself is compact, tidy and smart looking.
Don't forget the USB 2.0 cable. It's a real shame they couldn't just include a 2m AB cable just so you can use it 'out of the box'. | | Does what it says on the tin: Rating: 4/5 |

The "All In One Printer" was delivered within the stated time. Although I haven't had a chance to use it a great deal up to date, I am very pleased with the fact it was very easy to install and, so far, easy to use. I read in one of the reviews that the printer was noisy. I haven't found it any noisier than other printers that I have used. Hence, not a problem as far as I am concerned.
