Qaulity Netbook (with a few small niggles): Rating: 4/5
This is a cracking wee piece of kit to be honest, boots up pretty quick, looks good, good connectivity.

Its got a few little cosmetic things that don't do anything but look very cool like the blue glow from the power on light and the silver rim round the front.

Most netbooks are pretty much exactly the same with a slightly different style and brand, the defining factors tend to be hard disk space, keyboard layout and battery life. Fortunately these three points are well addressed with a large hard drive although i have seen netbooks with larger 250bg drives. The keyboard is very well laid out, it takes a little getting used to and i know some people find it a bit difficult but truthfully it is really very good. As this netbook has a 6 cell battery rather than to the usual 3 cell, i have found that it can indeed run for around 8 hours with light use at the correct setting but this is more likely to be around 5-6 hours if its being used a regular amount. To avoid making the netbook bulkier and a little less charismatic the batter is cleverly used as a stand which in fact makes typing easier which is a bonus.

I have had this netbook for around 6months and its held up reasonably well, the rubber grips on the bottom of the netbook have all come off but this happens with pretty much anything that has them. I have found that if you are using iTunes and if like me you turn the pre-amp up to maximum to make songs louder the speakers get very very hot almost too hot to touch, so this is not advised. The speakers them self are quite clear but they are very weak which is expected, sometimes it is difficult to watch a video even if the window is open, however i would be surprised if any other netbooks get past this problem. As the shell of the netbook is glossy it does get smudged but looks great if you just give it a wee wipe with a soft cloth.

I suppose the only thing that is a bit annoying is that if you are using this netbook while it is charging which i must say i rarely do as the battery life is so good, due to the metal rim round the outside, if soft skin touches it you get a little electric shock, i don't know if this is a fault with my specific netbook. It only happens if it touches your belly or inner arms fingertips are too hard if that is any consolation.

Apart from those minor gripes there is not reason why you would want to buy another netbook over the Samsung NC10, and at this price you can hardly go wrong.
excellent: Rating: 5/5
In March 2010, I needed to purchase a netbook which could run for a minimum of 4 hours without re-charge. I narrowed my search down from aprox 20 options to the Samsung 11. My main criteria were battery life, decent screen for microsoft word, powerpoint and excel use; in addition wireless, bluetooth capabilites and reliability. I had decied upon the NC11, however upon reading a reviwe on amazon I decided to opt for the NC10, since the review suggested that after the nc11 was launched, the nc10 was considerably cheaper, even with the upgrade to 1GB ram, that is if you don't mind running windows xp.
The nc10 is great and I am mamaging 6 hours battery life using microsoft word, before a recharge is needed. I have a top of the range Dell laptop, which I hardly ever use, the samung provides evertyhing I need for office processing; the webcam and sound are great for mobile communication.
Don't buy the additional external dvd drive, it is not needed.

SUPERB: Rating: 5/5
This is a cracker of a machine. The keyboard by far Id say doesn't get any better on a netbook. The screen is crisp and the writing is big and feels like an ordinary monitor. Sometimes I forget I'm using a netbook. Now I am using more of my NC10 than my main laptop and writing this review from it.

The complaint about track-pad not being large enough is something I read on here before I bought mine. I can gladly report I find the track-pad absolutely fine.

The machine is snappy and works fast. Doesn't make any sound and gives off little heat even after I've had it for a while now. Great looking machine and does everything... 3 USB port is very handy compared to usual 2 you get with netbooks - makes it feel more like your base computer. Sturdy built and even has an SD card reader to get your photos in. Brilliant battery life makes it a machine which you can take with you just depending on the battery unlike other machines.

No flaws found so far.

Highly recommended!
brilliant even though not the latest model: Rating: 5/5
I bought this for use in our motorhome. I wanted long battery life, charging from 12 volt as well as mains, and to be able to top up the charge rather than waiting for it to run down without shortening battery life i.e the sort of battery that doesn't remember. This little machine does all that. I tried it without re-charging at first to see how long it would go, and it lasted 8 hours, using it mainly for word processing and email. The keyboard is large enough for me to touch type, and has a good feel for such a small machine.
I checked out a few models and this was not the most up to date, but various sources, including a well known computer magazine, listed it as being the most sound model. I'm really glad I got it as it is just perfect. It starts up quickly, finds a wifi network immediately if there is one around, and the battery and charging are just great. Wonderful little notebook.

I had looked at the NC10 for a long time, watched the price drop below £200 then rocket back up over £300. Finally this year I took the plunge and used Amazon's offer of a credit card to get some interest free credt AND £15 credit back, so a good financial deal.

Initially on firing up you have a fair few things going on and like some have mentioned the built in software immediately partitions the hard drive into 'two' - a C and D drive, although in truth this is the main drive split in two. Rather than muck about reloading windows I took the option of leaving it as it is and when loading software putting programmes on one part and data (files etc) on the other. No issue so far.

If you have a desktop and a decent USB Stick you can generally copy over the CD to the Stick and then use that to load software over - Microsoft Office Student was fine like this and the license allows you to use it on up to 4 machines, I think.

Performance is good, you get some slowing down when you open too many tabs - my pet 'habit'! Otherwise it connected fast to our wireless connection and has not lost connection at any point.

Ditch some of the built in software - I went for my standards of Avast and Zone Alarm for free and all fine after a couple of weeks.

I have thought about increasing the memory, but this has shot up over £40 so will wait for that to fall back again.

Keyboard? My worry was it would be too small given I have big hands, but it is a nice compact size and has that 'good' feel you get with a quality machine.

Love it as it has got me out from behind the desk at last. I wanted machine I can write on, I wanted a machine I can use to surf round the house and garden, I wanted a machine that was a decent price with a decent performance. And it does all that.

Battery seems good. You can tweak the settings to get more life out of it, but this is mainly linked to how bright you have the screen.

Glad to have it, wish I had got one sooner!
