Besides my std laptop,complete with DVD/CD drive, I am using an Acer Aspire One netbook ( with no drive unit)for the ease carrying home and away.
The Liteon Ext. drive is a perfect compact companion for adding software or seeing DVD's or listening to CD's.

| I just purchased this item and i am very happy with it. i have a HP mini 210 netbook with windows . i was worried it wasnt going to work with windows 7 at first as when i recieved it it said windows vista on the box . So i plugged it in and it worked great. allthough if you want to watch dvd's then you have to download a Decoder which is very easy i just went on to the internet and went on Cnet. and typed in external dvd decoder and i downloaded a windows one at the bottom of the page . easy to install and now it works great with dvds. it does have a very short wire which is handy as you can slot it underneath so you dont lose it. it can be quite noisy but not a major issue considering the price . overall i am very happy with it TOP BUY .. | | Liteweight...: Rating: 4/5 |

| The item is well built and looks good, but it would not play DVDs through my Samsung N110. At the time, it was running on Windows 7 Starter, so this might have been the problem. Anyway, I sent it back to Amazon and they refunded the cost plus postage immediately. No bother or fuss - great service! | | External DVD Rom: Rating: 5/5 |
