| Impressive and works easily with xbmc: Rating: 5/5 |
This remote worked straight away, only had to open, pop the batteries that came with it in and that was it.
I've got a simple setup - Windows XP and XBMC
The remote worked as soon as I inserted the USB infrared adaptor into the pc.
Thoroughly recommend it, didn't have to do any configuration with the pc nor xbmc. If you want then you can change the button mapping this is easily done, however you should know that nothing needs to be done to make it work, the menu buttons work along with all the pause/play etc buttons.
Just so you know when you install the usb adaptor it installs as a HID keyboard.
At £15 I recommend it totally, just know that as its infrared you will need to have line of sight of the usb adaptor. |
| Good quality remote, works well with XBMC for Windows: Rating: 4/5 |
I have bought this to use with Windows 7 and XBMC.
Most buttons work out of the box, and remote is detected automatically by Windows 7, no drivers required. Some buttons like the coloured ones don't work. I have spent a long time trying to get those additional buttons to do something, but without success, despite using third party software. The green windows button starts by default Windows 7 media centre. I haven't managed to start XBMC instead. I have just given up and will use what's working for now.
The remote itself is high quality. The USB dongle works fine, although quite tall/big. |

I can't comment on the software as I've not installed it. There was no need, I simply plugged the USB receiver into my PC, waited a few seconds and that was that! Simple, intuitive controls, decent range and works from the narrowest of angles, by that I mean you don't have to be face onto the receiver.
It does look a little dated but it's perfectly functional and I would rather have that than something that looked great and didn't do the job!
Highly recommended. |

| Well made. Designed to work with windows media center out-of-the-box. I use it with XBMC and Nebula's DigiTV application. Unlike infrared remote controls, it is essentially a handheld RF keyboard. In conjunction with LMRemote, I can customise it to work fully with both apps, and control Windows itself. Good range for an RF device, and (of course) doesn't interfere with any infrared appliances (TV, DVD etc). Absolute bargain for the money. |

Nice remote, very responsive. Works well with various Windows apps i.e MCE etc.
Dont bother trying to get it to work with MediaPortal (horrible software) unless you get something like intelliremote (which you have to pay for). |
