| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: 4.0/5 | | Slow data card and slower frame rate than stated: Rating: 3/5 |
The camcorder is supplied with a 2GB micro SD card Class 2. This is not a fast enough write speed to capture the data being recorded by the camera (quoted at 30 frames per second). I found the video capture to appear to jump every so often when using the supplied Class 2 card. This has improved on using a Class 6 card but supplying the camera with a card which is not capable of capturing data at the speed of the camera is disingenuous. Expect to spend a further £10 to get the appropriate 4GB Class 6 card.
Nor does the camera actually record at 30fps. It appears to be somewhere between 20-25 fps. The 30fps quoted in Amazon's spec for the device is not correct; this is confirmed by Veho on their website tech support and spec pages. Amazon (and for that matter any vendor) should not be advertising this as a 30fps camera. It would appear Veho probably did so originally but have since retracted. They now state 25.
It's a nice little product and ideal for my purposes but I felt a little misled to discover these two issues with it after purchase. But I would still have bought it. | | Awesome little camera: Rating: 5/5 |
I bought this for a trip to the Nurburgring in July, we tested it out by clipping it to the lower grille of a car and we were impressed, even with the sun setting the picture quality was impressive. It's definately the best footage we've taken of the Nurburgring, it's ability to focus on the road, as well as the distance is pretty impressive.
It's since been used by my father on his motorbike, and I plan to take it mountain biking.
I did debate whether to buy the genuine Muvi, or get a cheap copy. I'm glad I went for the Muvi, it's metal casing makes it feel much tougher than the plastic ones, the picture is also of better quality.
I edited my movies with Windows Movie maker, very easy to do.
So all in all, a very good and recommended piece of kit.

| bought this product, received in a few days, already used, i bought it with the extreme sports pack which makes it able to attach to almost anything, easy to use and to connect to computer, i attached to bumper of car with the velcro it filmed extremely well with no shaking of the velcro and held onto car very strongly. would recommend to drivers, bikers, skiiers and any other sports which have places to attach camera to, provides unique filming points and produces great ways of recording holidays/ events. | | Excellent little thing!: Rating: 5/5 |
Read all (ok, most) of the reviews before buying thye camera, and followed the advice of going for a Class 6 memory card, 16GB in my case. No juddery recordings, smooth video always.
I haven't ahd any issue with battery lasting less than the memory but also haven't filled up the memory yet, about 2 hours of recording in multiple clips and it's still fine.
Observations:
- file sizes are huge!
- copying time is slow. This is not a flash drive, which is geared to fast data file transfers. It's geared to fast writing on the memory card, but as for transfer to computer, it's very slow. It's still ok, because it needs to be charged at the same time, so... whatever.
- initially I thought of turning it on, pressing the record button and then turning it off. Big mistake, as it needs the record button pressed again to save the file. In my case I just lost all the recordings for that session. Following sessions went ok because I was careful to press the button to stop.
- I don't know how they do it but it's fairly immune to vibration. Went on a roller coaster in which I had to have my arm out to be able to get a proper angle, and it was a wild ride! Though the video would be useless due to how much my arm was moving about but no, the video came out amazingly well.
It doesn't have any bells and whistles but that's exactly how I want it.
Thinking on buying another one to be able to record front and back at the same time. | | Disappointing: Rating: 1/5 |
| I bought this item primarily to use on a motorcycle, but it suffers badly from a syndrome known as "rolling shutter" which causes the image to appear "wobbly". I contacted Veho about this, and their response was simply that this is to be expected. Overall, not suitable for the purpose it was bought, and I would advise prospective purchasers to avoid it if wanted for anything other than a stationary camcorder. | |
