| Epson SX515W: Rating: 5/5 |
| Delivery of this item was spot on and the set up was simple. I got to work with it on day 1 scanning, printing photo's and a CV. The print quality for both was veys good.Scanning , printing and copying couldn't be easier . I would recommend this item to anyone. |
| great printer: Rating: 5/5 |
I was forced to look for a new printer as my aged HP all-in-one was failing fast and I had important printing needing done. I'd had Epson printers before and found them cheap to run compared with the HP, so read the reviews and plumped for this one. Now that we have a home network it seemed daft not to opt for a wi-fi model!
Setting up was a breeze, turn it on, run the disc and connect the cable to the router and voila. I thought setting up the Windows 7 netbook would be a hassle, but I literally switched it on, looked for and found the printer on the network and let it download and install the driver and it was up and running too.
Printer-wise it works very well. I've done a few photos on the included paper samples and the colours and bright and vibrant. Even on normal paper the photos look great. The controlls are large and self-explanatory. Scanning works perfectly and prints clearly even from a not-exactly-flat magazine page.
All in all, this seems like being a good buy. The inks are very cheap to buy, so running costs should be low. |
| Pretty good: Rating: 4/5 |
I have had my printer for a few weeks now and on the whole I am pretty pleased with it.
Setup was simple. I chose a wired solution and the software detected the printer straight away
The print quality is fairly good and the speed seems adequate. I've not done enough printing to comment upon the ink economy.
Scanning and copying both work well
The only thing which is sub-standard is the paper feed which is quite tempermental. It quite often fails to pick up the paper. When it grabs the paper it is very noisy and looks like the paper is going to be ripped to shreds, thankfully it isn't.
Whilst I give it 4/5 I'm not sure I'd recommend it as I'm not convinced about the paperfeed going the distance |
| Epson Stylus SX515W Widows 7 set up not as hard as reviewers been saying.: Rating: 4/5 |
I purchased this printer with some trepidation after reading the reviews on setting up the printer with Windows 7. However when I received the printer I connected my laptop to the printer using the usb cable and inserted the set up disc. It instantly took me to the Epson website where I found my particular model and it stated that I had to download two drivers. I did this and then followed the installation process using the cd which is so easy it is step by step.
I have printed a document and was surprised by how noisy the printer is but I am pleased with the print quality.
As yet not used the photocopier and scanner so cannot comment on these.
Please don't let the reviews of difficulty setting up with Windows 7 put you off buying this printer. |
