This is a nice little monitor with a 16:9 screen ratio. I wanted it for my Apple Mac with OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
Using the 'supplied' DVi cable I plugged in and switched on the Viewsonic and then the Mac. Worked perfectly with not installation of anything. I opened 'systems preferences' and calibrated the monitor to my personal preferences. Easy and no problems. All working well for a 'value' product.

Easy 'plug in and work'
Simple built in menu
Good build quality

Con's:
Shiny black plastic frame & 'foot'.
Super Bright blue 'on' LED right in the front!

I purchased 4 of these monitors and saved myself a bundle. I have written the review underneath and hope this helps.
PROS
- very cheap for a 1080p full HD monitor
- looks nice from the front (and even expensive)
- vibrant colors on monitor
- excellent 2ms response time
- amazing video playback
- in-build speakers
- no bezel around monitor, which makes the monitor looks bigger
- excellent warranty cover
CONS
- poor speaker quality
- the front light is too bright
- some backlight bleed around the monitor, not much
(only tell when lights are off and monitor is on, with a full-black image, black colour did not stay consistent to the edges of the monitor)
- no HDMI cable included
CONCLUSION
It's PROS far outweigh the CONS, and for the price, you really can't complain. If you are a casual web user or somebody who wants a full HD monitor without the huge price tag, then this is the monitor for you. I bought some speakers to use alongside with it, because I found the sound quality weak. Generally speaking in-build speakers are never the best.
For 98% of the people this is perfect, the other 2% demand much much more, and normally pay twice as much for the same screen size. | | great picture: Rating: 5/5 |

Excellent in every respect save the speakers. They are somewhat tinny compared with good quality external speakers. No more than I expected. They get one started and are probably OK for most music. Totally unsuitable for serious (classical) music.
However the monitor was purchased for visual not audio and in tis respect I am very pleased | |
