| Customer Reviews: Average Rating: 4.0/5 | | Does the job...: Rating: 4/5 |
| No Complaints about the actual product, but I HATE the cap - there had to be a better way to have a protector on the end instead of the bulky, difficult to get off monstrosity that come with this one. Hard to imagine quite how this design made it into production! That said, once out of the cap, the item itself is fast enough and cuts the mustard! | | Dinky!: Rating: 4/5 |
Pros: Very small, very stylish. Doesn't obstruct spare USB ports.
Cons: Data transfer could be faster.
If, like me, the idea of choice between memory sticks more or less comes down to how small and portable the model, this one is hard to beat.
It's very stylish, having a sort of retro-futuristic quality to it thanks to the recessed LED bay. It's also very small, but nicely chunky, so you benefit from portability without thinking you're going to lose it all the time.
It is made out of a grippy plastic.
You can snap the lid on to the back of the USB stick when it is plugged in, ensuring that the lid will not be lost.
Data transfer speeds are relatively slow, but it's cheap and it's good-looking, so who cares, really? | | Attractive, Practical, Good value: Rating: 5/5 |
Lexar has done well for itself with this, and its equivalent devices. It has good read and write speeds and good compatability overall. It looks good, good value and the best thing, which in my view is among the most important with these, is the practicality. It clips onto things nicely, its small, the fitting into the lid is secure, the actual connections are well protected. Almost all other portable digital storage devices have some sort of practical issues in the real, busy world but this has none.
What I would say is that the attatchment hook could break with very excessive force but its seems sturdy and I have yet to break it after a couple of months smashing the thing around.
From experience, this is a good one. | | Best USB i've owned: Rating: 5/5 |
This USB is just great. It's really small and portable and the sliding top is really innovative. Unlike my old usbs, where all the tops got lost and i could never reattach them to my keys again, this thing really does hold on tight.
The USB itself is really small and just feels right. The easy detachment means that i can just slide it out of the housing, plug it into my pc, and reattach it without any hassle. Another neat thing is that you can fit the USB if when its flipped around meaning that you can still have it attached to your keys even when its plugged in so if you're scared you'll lose it, this will come in handy.
All in all, a tad pricy but very durable and built/designed to a high standard. Highly recommended for a long lasting, high performance USB. | | Nice, Neat and Nifty: Rating: 4/5 |
This 16gb is a nice, nifty piece of kit and is a lot of extra storage for a little price. and comes in a small package which makes it really neat to carry around. I cannot think I will need any more storage than this to carry around.
This is my second Firefly with no reading or writing problems. My last one went through the wash ;0) and still worked - not a recommended test but still reassuring regarding the quality of these drives. I bought a second when I could not find my original 8gb one (This turned up 2 weeks after I received this one- so a real bonus)
A nice place to store large files and even usb based programmes and backup - It does the flashing light thing when accessing which is probably why it is called a firefly- which is a nice touch. I cannot fault these drives
