my baby laptop: Rating: 4/5
Love my tiny laptop. It runs Linux, so no idiot problems with windows etc. Mind you, it wouldn't access WIFI in McDonalds in France. WOnder why? Anyone know? Other than that it arrived so promptly. Excellent service from Amazon.
I bought 7 of them!!: Rating: 5/5
I bought 7 of these netbooks last summer (10 months ago) for friends and family
None of them have developed any kind of faults or problems!

Removed Linpus and put on Windows
Linpus is horrible and buggy and is the cause of most of the reported problems with connection etc, but its what makes this netbook cheap(I got these from another website for £140 each)

Once Windows is on there, it runs like a dream
Runs everything nice, Skype, MS office, streaming video, even runs games that don't run on some other netbooks! (Try Braid or world of goo)

Excellent for watching films, passing the time one a long plane or train journey.
I also got a 9 cell battery, some noise cancelling headphones and a hard case
Swings and Roundabouts: Rating: 4/5
i enjoy using my acer aspire one, it has 120GB hard drive, 1gb ram and is at the moment duel booting ubuntu 9.10 and windows 7. My acer came with windows XP but in all honestly i wouldnt recommand running XP on it just because there are many better alternatives such as windows 7 and ubuntu than a OS that is almost 10 years old.

I am currently studying at university and it was important to have a laptop that was portable and the acer is indeed portable, however the machine is very under powered when compared to a 'real' laptop and althought the keyboard is good i wouldnt advise long eassys on but if like most people you only want to use microsoft word and browse the internet it is a good machine.

However there is a catch i never do any real work on it i find the keyboard to be awkward for coding and typing and the screen too small to be of any use when browsing the internet (you must use full screen to at leat see half of a web page), many people on my course have one but there are very much a tinkering machine a plaything to try the latest linux distros and to get "under the hood" of a computer. The battery life is also very poor i take the charger everywere with me.

I dont know how this machine could fit in really you need a desktop or a "prober" laptop then have it as a little portable machine that you can take with you then it would make a good machine if this is the case i would suggest getting a smaller (solid state drive)SSD rather then a larger tradtional hard drive this would speed up the netbook considerable and spend a bit of money on a large USB stick to store your files. This is how i use my machine and it suits university life very well always having my important files ready to edit and can use them on any computer.

Overall though a good machine :)
installing windows7: Rating: 5/5
this machine is very nice running linux , but to really get the most of this machine you need to get windows7 installed. this can be very tricky however with a bit of google searching it can be done. I have completed the installation and now this machine is perfect, fast and very graphical and flow.....very nice !
good product for its price use xp with sp3 to replace linux: Rating: 4/5
goood product replace linux with xp but it must be with service pack 3 u can use lite software to update xp and on net u could find all procedure how to do instalations but must use official copy of xp.
