This is very simple to use, connect the wire to the modem and the radio works.
However, I wanted a wireless bridge. This means setting up a different mode.
Problem 1. Access to the device requires a PC with its IP set to 192.168.1.210. If you don't know how to do this there are no clues [My clue: find 'internet connections' set 'use this address'].
Problem 2. It still does not work, at least not for me. I had to turn the laptop wireless off and then it worked.
Problem 3. What mode to set? There are several to chose from and I am still working on which one I need. NetGear did not say when I emailed them (see 4 below).
Problem 4. When I set up what I thought was right it reported 'limited or no connectivity' and sure enough it did not work as a bridge. I am still working out what to do about this. NetGear gave some clues by email but then dropped back to 'please ring us between 9 and 6'.
I am sure it will work out one day but it should be easier than this! |

This product was easy to set-up and has run faultlessly since installation. It has allowed me to cancel one of my two ADSL accounts and so has paid for itself already.
Prior to this unit I attempted to use a Belkin device that was, to say the least, flaky.
I am now Netgear all-round and happy to be so. |

Using Cisco equipement at work I have always used Linksys at home, but due to some poor experiences with the all in one BT Home HUB, enough was enough and looking I went.
Thought give Netgear a go, fantastic, clear non-translated installation instructions. I took less than 5 minutes to set up.
I have now ordered the Netgear switch based on this experience.

| Best to get single purpose products in this area where even Linksys multi function firmware is unrelaible. Netgear seems best of th ebucnh and I have tried several. Looks good too. |
